Tazzy Totes - Giveaway

I have been using reusable shopping bags for almost five years now, courtesy of Wholefoods, but throughout this time I was always baffled at how I was supposed to handle my produce and bulk items. Last year I finally gave in and stopped using plastic bags for my produce, and only use small paper bags when I had many items, but what about my bulk items? I felt so un-crunchy every time I would reach for a plastic bag, and lets face it, I used bulk items pretty frequently. From various nuts, oatmeal, raisins, and all my cooking needs, I probably went through fives bags a week on average.

Then one day all my questions were answered when I came across Tazzy Totes produce bags. Tazzy Totes are a great alternative to plastic. They are reasonably affordable, come in a pack with 3 large bags and one small bag for smaller items such as herbs, and a Go-Green Marker so you can avoid the twist ties for bulk items, plus they are washable.

I searched through the Tazzy Totes website and was pleasantly surprised to see they offer much more than just produce bags. They also have cloth grocery bags, bottle totes and great canvas shopping basket!

I like these bags so much, I am going to do another giveaway to two of my readers. One will go to a lucky winner when my facebook page reaches 150 fans. I will also give one away to a random reader of my blog. Leave me a comment letting me know why you could really use the Tazzy Totes. I will choose the winners the same day.

  1. I too have been using reusable shopping bags for a few years now but haven't ventured into the reusable produce bags. I'd love to be able to use them too instead of the plastic!

  2. These would be great to complete the "no plastic" shopping! It has been hard to avoid the plastic bags in the produce department because I just can't put my produce on the checkout counter with no covering.

  4. My family is becoming more eco-friendly and I don't like using the plastic ones at the supermarket. These would be great to use. I bring my big reusable totes to the farmers market but this would help at the grocery.

  5. We buy so much produce and I always feel guilty coming home with6 or 7 plastic produce bags that I don't even have a reason to reuse. I'd love a more eco-friendly option.

Is that the Beaba Babycook in the background? I was looking at it yesterday and was wondering how it really works. Do you like it?

  7. These are so cute! I would love to add them to my re-useable bag collection since I always have to put my produce in plastic at the store.

  8. I would love the totes because me and my husband have just recently been considering switching to cloth shopping bags. This would be a great compliment to that and we ALWAYS buy tons of produce!

  9. What a great way to avoid plastic waste for produce. Plus, who wants plastic rubbing all over what they are going to eat?

  10. Lilypad Mom, yes it is the Babycook! I love it so far and even wrote a blog entry about it, but I'm not convinced yet that it's quite worth the price. Perhaps if I had bought it with my first instead of my second child. The one good thing about it is that it is so convenient that I use it every day. If I didn't have it I would resort to store bought baby food. Which is okay too, but I'm trying to be creative, crunchy and thrifty.

Julia, right? We have eliminated plastic cups and bowels for this reason, can't believe I never thought about the plastic on my fresh, organic produce!! Poor produce!

  12. I use the reusable grocery bags when I can, but I only have a few of them so it usually won't cover all of my groceries, but a few bags here and there makes a difference! :) I would love to use the reusable produce bags! I buy so many veggies and fresh fruits that I could make a huge dent in my carbon footprint by reusing those! :) Please consider me! Thanks!!
